AMR System
Overview
SandxTM
is an automatic meter reading system designed for
large-scale deployment. With its distributed architecture,
it can handle large number of meters by dividing them into
group of meters is managed by a Data Concentration
Unit that centralizes data for easy collection by
the Central Station.
For a better
understanding, we can divide a complete
SandxTM
system into five
major parts:
u
Meter
Interface Unit
(MIU) equipment that is installed to
collect
metering data
Depending on the type and construction of the meter to be
interfaced
with, the design
of the MIU is varied. The purpose of the various
designs is to
facilitate easy installation and meet environmental
constraints.
a). MIU pulse type ;
one to one
connect with meter which with pulse output only.
b). MIU 485 interface type ;
one to one
collect one meter's reading data from the meter with
RS485
interface .
Remark :
normally install in a single house or suburb areas .
u
Acquisition Terminal Unit
(ATU) equipment that is installed to
collect
many meters' reading data from those meters with RS485
interface.
Remark : normally install in the metering room or
concentrate areas
which with
many meters.
◆
Data Concentration Unit
(DCU) hardware that is able to communicate,
retrieve
and store data from many ATUs and MIUs.
◆
Central Station
(CS)
a Windows 2003/2000/NT based computer system
located in
the office and installed with the SandxTM
software and
communication equipment.
These four parts can be connected using a variety of
different
communication methods that best suit the surroundings. The
different
methods
can even be combined within on system.
u
Hand
Held Unit
(HHU)
The
Hand Held Unit (HHU) it is convenient for site
meter reading,
setting
meter parameters.
HHU can display data including power consumption, meter
constant,
meter
number and alarm signal with real time monitoring.
The HHU is for site installation, testing and commissioning
and
servicing.
The data read by HHU will be save automatically, which can
be
uploaded to not only the management system of the CS but
also the
customer's
power management system. |
