Central Station (CS)

Function
At the heart
of the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) System is the
Central Station that includes the Computer with
associated accessories and AMR Application Software. The
software brings together all the elements of the system
and provides a user-friendly interface for overall
system control and management. Once installed and
configured, the system is designed to run continuously
retrieving metering data automatically and storing it
for processing and reference. Besides regular monitoring
of the system activity log data export, the need for
user attention is minimal.

System Design
The software
is designed for practicality and flexibility while
keeping the interface simple and intuitive. This is
achieved by dividing the functions of the central
station into six main categories which are summarized
below:
l Operation
Log – Logging of site equipment status and central
station
operation.
l Remote
– Remote programming and reading of site equipment data
and
status.
l HHU
– Administration of Hand Held Unit (HHU) for site
installation,
testing
& commissioning and servicing.
l Data
Enquiry & Analysis – For enquiring of system parameters,
reading
and status.
l Data
Export – For exporting of reading and selected
parameters to
other
system.
l System
Administration – For defining system configuration and
administration of Central Station operation. |
